Cinco de Mayo, or the Fifth of May, commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. This day is often mistaken for Mexico’s Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, featuring festive gatherings, parades, and, of course, delicious food!
This guide will be updated regularly as local businesses announce their Cinco de Mayo events. Check back often for the latest additions!
