Happy Monday! Let’s take a just a quick minute to catch up on the latest happenings in our local dining scene! Here’s what’s new this past week:
Business Updates
- Napolis Italian Restaurant’s liquor license was finally approved! This means you can now enjoy a drink with your meal.
- Kobi-eon Chicken and Corndog celebrated their grand opening on July 3rd. During their soft opening week, they focused on perfecting their food and service, welcoming and implementing feedback from guests to ensure they provide the best food and experience possible.
- July 1st marked the beginning of new ownership for Jacks Restaurant. New owner, Kaylyn Singh, has promised to continue to offer the same favorites along with some fresh new additions.
- Bayleaf & Butterscotch is planned the former Sugar Mama’s bakery space at 115 W. Jefferson St., Suite 105, in Downtown Bloomington. They currently operate in Pleasant Plains, Illinois, where the business has quickly built a loyal following since opening in June 2025. The new Downtown Bloomington location will offer specialty coffee and espresso beverages, fresh pastries and desserts prepared on site, light breakfast and lunch offerings, and seasonal menu items.
Anniversaries
- July 1st marked the 33rd anniversary of Jan Lancaster (“Mama”) owning The Bistro. Join them in celebrating later this month at Bloomington-Normal Pridefest on July 25th!
- 2810 CAFE celebrated their 2nd anniversary on June 27th
Hour Changes
- Bloomington Spice Works will have an extended close from July 11th – July 24th, so make sure to see them for all your spice needs before then!
