Happy August! It’s a new month and a new week, which means…another Monday Minute!
Business Updates
- Dar Al-Coffee celebrated their Grand Opening last Thursday. They will now be open regular hours from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday – Friday and Saturday/Sunday from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Anniversaries
- The Peppered Pig in Colfax celebrates their 3rd year today (August 3rd). Their mission since they’ve opened their doors has been to give back to the community. In honor of their 3rd year in business, they will be partnering with OSF Peace Meals on August 3rd. Offerings for customers 60 and older include selections from their current menu of paninis, sandwiches, wraps and breakfast items such as loaded breakfast bowls, biscuits & gravy, etc. Peace Meal tickets may be purchased weekdays ($4 donation) at their location and may be used at any participating restaurant in the area.
- Congrats to Brian Dixon who celebrated one year as owner of Six Strings Club in Downtown Bloomington on August 1st. Brian started at Six Strings in 2010 as part of the security team while studying at ISU eventually transitioning to bartender and then becoming General Manager in 2013. In 2025, Brian took the leap from managing to owning.
Hour Changes
- The Peppered Pig’s new hours are Tuesday 5 -7 pm (Takeout only – one featured meal every Tuesday evening), Wednesday 11am – 1pm, Thursday 11 am – 1 pm & 5 – 7 pm, Friday 11 am – 1 pm & 5 – 7 pm, Sat 8 am – 1 pm (breakfast menu), Sun 9 am – Noon (breakfast menu).
