September 29th is National Coffee Day! This holiday celebrates the joy of coffee and the simple pleasure it brings to our daily lives. Fortunately for those of us in Bloomington-Normal, we’ve got plenty of options to celebrate! With 39 coffee shops in the area, there are lots of great places to enjoy the day!

For those on the go, hit up the drive-thrus at Jasper’s Java off GE Road or Bloom’s Coffee Bar off Towanda Avenue. Out of towners can stop by Balanced Brews in Le Roy or Essential Coffee in Lexington. Don’t miss Java Cafe if you’re in El Paso!

Looking for a sweet treat with your coffee? Check out Vogel Coffee in Heyworth or Viking Brews Coffee located on Rt. 150 in Bloomington. Headed to Downtown Bloomington? Make sure to stop at the longtime staple – Coffeehound Cafe & Roasters.

Near Illinois State University or in Uptown Normal? Swing by Fusion Brew,  Coffeehound Uptown Normal or visit The Coffeehouse & Deli for coffee plus a vegan lunch. For a sweet indulgence, it’s worth the drive to Gridley’s Common Grounds Cafe & Pie Shop to get a slice of pie along with your coffee (we recommend the peanut butter pie!)

Over on the east side of Bloomington, Empire Coffee has homemade breakfast goodies and CRAFTED Coffee Brews is a go-to for business meetings. For a modern vibe, visit LVL Up Coffee Bar. Pet lovers can combine coffee and adoptable cats at The Cat’s Meow Café!
